Connect Close CRM – Automate Your Contacts

With the KlickTipp integration, you can easily control your Close contact data and KlickTipp marketing campaigns. After you have linked both accounts via OAuth, a user-defined field - the KlickTipp SmartTag - is automatically created in Close. This allows you to segment contacts and control campaigns. Changes to Close contact data such as first name, last name, SMS number and email address are also transferred to KlickTipp.

Email activities such as opens and clicks are even sent back to Close from KlickTipp. You can also create campaigns in KlickTipp to send KlickTipp contacts to Close to add new leads to your funnel in Close when needed.

This step-by-step guide shows you how to connect Close CRM with KlickTipp - so you can make the most of Close's powerful sales and telephony features and KlickTipp's versatile email marketing capabilities.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prerequisites

  • KlickTipp account with Close CRM add-on: Make sure that you have a subscription to KlickTipp and that the appropriate Close CRM add-on is activated.
  • Close CRM account: Check whether you have access to your Close CRM system.

Establish a Connection between Close CRM and KlickTipp

  • In KlickTipp, go to → Marketing Tools.
  • Click on → Add new Marketing Tool.
  • Search for → Close CRM  and select it. You will then be redirected to the upgrade process and then to Close.
  • If you have not yet booked the Close CRM add-on, you can activate it as an upgrade here.
  • An authorization window for Close CRM will open. Click on → Connect to Close.
  • If you are not logged in, log in and grant the required access rights.
  • Confirm the connection. You will then be automatically redirected back to KlickTipp.

Synchronize Close CRM Contacts with KlickTipp

  • Thanks to the integration, the → KlickTipp SmartTag  field is automatically added in Close CRM.
  • Open an existing contact in Close CRM or create a new one.
  • Go to the contact fields and check the → KlickTipp SmartTag  field.
  • Here you can enter segmentation values to classify the contact appropriately in KlickTipp.
  • As soon as you edit the selection field, a marketing tool is automatically created in KlickTipp.

Set up Marketing Tools in KlickTipp

  • Open the → Marketing Tools  area in KlickTipp.
  • Check the existing marketing tools that were created by selecting them in the → KlickTipp SmartTag  field in Close.
  • In KlickTipp, you can optionally assign a label to the marketing tool. This makes it easier to organize your elements internally.
  • Note: You can also adjust the name of the marketing tool from KlickTipp for your internal organization - but note that this does not update the name of the selection value of the smart tag in Close CRM, as this remains the same.
  • Define the opt-in process that should be triggered for contacts after the transfer to KlickTipp. Optionally, you can add a tag to better segment your contacts. When a contact is transferred to KlickTipp for the first time, KlickTipp automatically starts the double opt-in process and sends a confirmation email.
  • Each contact from Close CRM can be segmented with → SmartTags.  This allows you to trigger targeted campaigns in KlickTipp. In Close CRM, you can edit multiple contacts at the same time (→ Bulk Edit) to segment an entire target group at once - instead of customizing the contacts individually.

Start a KlickTipp Campaign from Close CRM

  • Create SmartTag via Close CRM in KlickTipp: Complete the selection in the → KlickTipp SmartTag  field in Close with a suitable SmartTag, e.g. → Content Campaign.
  • Create an email campaign in KlickTipp: Create a campaign that is triggered for contacts with the → Close SmartTag  in the start condition. Would you like to set up an email info series? Then you can use this campaign template: Control email marketing in KlickTipp from Close.
  • Assign contacts in Close: Assign the created → KlickTipp SmartTag  to all relevant contacts in Close. You can also use → Bulk Editing  for this.
  • Monitor opens and clicks: Monitor the reactions to your email campaign and analyze the opens and clicks directly in Close CRM using the contact updates.
  • Tip: Do you want to make sure that the contact is included in the right newsletter? Use an optional tag within the → Close CRM Marketing Tool. For example, you can assign your central → Newsletter Tag.

Transfer Contacts and Contact Updates from KlickTipp to Close CRM

As a rule, you manage your contact data in Close CRM as the leading system. If you enter contact data via KlickTipp, you can also transfer the relevant information to Close. Your sales team can then reach these contacts by phone, for example, and respond to previous email content and interactions - for example, for a query about receiving a quote via KlickTipp. New or updated contact data in KlickTipp can optionally be transferred to Close CRM via outbound synchronization.

To do this, you create a suitable campaign that transfers the relevant contacts. Alternatively, you can also use our campaign template: Transfer from KlickTipp to Close Funnel.

  • In KlickTipp, go to the → Campaigns  section and create a new campaign.
  • Set a suitable start condition to select the contacts that should be transferred to Close - for example, new entries or updates to relevant fields.
  • Add an outbound action and select → Create webhook contact in Close CRM  to transfer the contacts to Close.
  • Close the campaign with an "End" action.

With these steps you have successfully connected Close CRM with KlickTipp. With this connection you can now:

  • Simple and seamless synchronization of contact data
  • Automated campaigns based on the SmartTags
  • The retransfer of updated data from KlickTipp to Close CRM
