Connect Make with KlickTipp and Optimize Workflows

Step-by-Step Instructions
Prerequisites
- KlickTipp account with API access: Make sure you have a Premium subscription or higher so that you have access to the API.
- Make account: Make sure you have a Make account.
Connect KlickTipp with Make
- Log in to your Make account.
- Create a new scenario and add the KlickTipp module.
- Go to → Connection and select → Add.
- Enter your username and password.
- You can check whether the connection was successful by clicking on the drop-down menu for tags. If your tags are loaded, everything worked.
Create KlickTipp Triggers via Webhook
Create scenario
- Open Make and click on → Create Scenario. Select KlickTipp as the first app.
Configure KlickTipp module
- Add trigger:
- Add a new module and enter KlickTipp in the search bar.
- In the functions of the KlickTipp module, select → Watch New Events.
- Click on → Create a webhook.
- Give the webhook a name and select your access data under → Connection .
- Copy the webhook URL.
Set up webhook in KlickTipp
- Create an outbound in KlickTipp:
- Give the outbound a name.
- Select an activation tag, e.g. → SmartLink clicked, and the appropriate KlickTipp element from the drop-down menu.
- Click on → Create Outbound.
Test scenario
- Save your scenario.
- Start a test run to check whether everything works as desired.
- Click on → Run once in the Make scenario.
- Call up the outbound and click on → Save & test.
Now you can use the outbounds to send data from KlickTipp to the created webhook and start your automation in Make. All data from the fields of your defined outbound will be transferred.
Create KlickTipp Action
Select or create scenario
- Open Make and select an existing scenario into which you want to insert the KlickTipp module. Or click on → Create Scenario to create a new scenario.
- If you create a new scenario, first select the trigger module. This determines the data source to be processed - e.g. the addition of a new row in a Google Sheet.
Adding and configuring the KlickTipp module
- Add action:
- Add a new module and enter KlickTipp in the search bar.
- In the functions of the KlickTipp module, select → Create a Contact.
- Connect the booking data from Calendly, e.g. name and email address, with the appropriate fields in KlickTipp.
- Optional: Add a tag to identify the source of the contact, e.g. → Calendly Booking.
Save and test scenario
- Save your scenario.
- Start a test run to make sure that everything works as desired.
- Click → Run once in the make scenario.
- Make an event booking in Calendly and check the make scenario and contact management in KlickTipp.
Now all the data processed by your trigger will be transferred to your KlickTipp module to perform the desired action in your KlickTipp account, such as adding a contact.

- Watch New Events: Monitors a webhook that is created in Make and can be reached via an outbound in KlickTipp. This allows you to set up triggers for each update of a contact, e.g. for manual tags or SmartTags.

Contact
- Add or Update Contact: Creates a new contact. If a contact with the same e-mail already exists, it will be updated.
- Update Contact: Updates a contact.
- Delete Contact: Deletes a contact.
- Unsubscribe Contact: Unsubscribes a contact and prevents further communication.
- Get Contact: Returns the complete data of a contact.
- Get Contact ID: Returns the contact ID for the requested e-mail address.
- List Contacts: Lists the IDs of all active contacts.
- List Tagged Contacts: Lists the IDs and tagging times of all tagged contacts.
Contact Tagging
- Tag Contact: Associates a contact with one or more tags.
- Untag Contact: Removes a tag from an existing contact.

Troubleshooting
Common problems and solutions
- Access invalid:
- Error: Failed to verify connection 'My KlickTipp connection'. [401] Error.
- Make sure you have API access and are using the username and password - not the email address.
- Module setting incomplete:
- Error: Value must not be empty.
- Make sure that all mandatory parameters (all fields with *) have been defined.
- Invalid address - validation failed:
- Error: [406] Update of contact failed.
- The address is not reachable according to our validation and cannot be added.
- Format error when transferring data:
- Error: [406] Invalid value in custom field. The given value is not valid for the field type.
- Check the format of the field and the transferred value.
- Invalid method:
- Error: [404] Please, enter valid parameter values.
- Wrong method used in the call - e.g. PATCH instead of POST.
- Invalid JSON (own API call):
- Error: [400] Invalid JSON.
- Check the structure of the JSON - a common error is that the parameters are not comma-separated when they are expanded individually.
