How to Create Hyper-Relevant SmartMails with AI in KlickTipp
With the new hyper-relevant SmartMails, you can create AI-personalized emails in KlickTipp in just a few minutes. Intelligent AI blocks automatically generate unique content for each recipient – increasing relevance, open rates, and communication efficiency.
What Are Hyper-Relevant SmartMails?
Hyper-relevant SmartMails are AI-personalized emails in KlickTipp that automatically generate unique content for each recipient.
For Laura, the copywriter, for example, this means that she can address her customers with hyper-relevant emails - for example with offers that precisely match their industry, writing style or project size.
For Oliver, the coach, this means that he can target his clients with content that matches their current development phase or personal goals - for example with training, impulses or events that are really relevant.
Please note that hyper-relevant SmartMails are a paid feature in KlickTipp that can be activated separately.
Good to Know
SmartMails are initially only available for campaign emails in the email builder. Newsletters and autoresponders will follow in a later expansion stage.
Global Prompt
A prompt is an instruction or input that you give to an AI so that it delivers exactly the result you want. In short, you tell the AI what to do - for example, what style, tone or information to use in a text. Our system uses a global context prompt to create hyper-relevant emails for you. You define what your brand is all about - from product information to style, tone and formatting - so that every email has the right look and feel and appeals to your target group in exactly the way you want it to.
What Are AI Blocks?
An AI block is a flexible content element that is automatically replaced by individually generated text when it is sent. Each block is based on a prompt, i.e. an instruction that describes what and how the AI should write. In addition, you can:
- Store a separate prompt for the subject
- Include master record fields as variables in the generation process
- Transfer tags as additional context information
Step-by-Step Instructions
In this guide, you will learn how to create a personalized campaign email with AI using KlickTipp - from approving relevant master record fields and tags to defining the AI prompt and designing and previewing your email.
Create New Campaign Email
- Create a new campaign email in the email builder.
Release Data Fields and Tags for the AI
In order for the email to be personalized based on recipient data, you must first define which data is released for the AI - only this data can then be used in the email.
For both additional fields and tags, a checkbox must be activated in the settings of the master record field or tag and a description of the master record field or tag must be stored, from which the AI can deduce what exactly is stored in the field or what exactly a tag says.
- Open → Contacts → Master Data Fields.
- Select the field and activate the → Enable for AI use checkbox.
- Add a description of what is saved in this field
Personalize Subject with AI Prompt
- Go to the subject field of the email.
- Activate → Automatically adapt to recipient with individual AI content.
- Define the prompt for the subject - the field is prefilled with a suggestion from us.
- Select master record fields, such as first name, company or other information about the contact that should be taken into account when writing the subject.
- If required, select tags to be made available to the AI - the AI receives information for each selected tag as to whether the recipient has it or not.
Important to Know
The master record fields and tags are provided to the AI as a separate list. Personalization is most effective if you mention the individual fields and tags again in your prompts. Explain to the AI as precisely as possible how it should use the contents of these fields when writing. Please also take a look at our prompting guide.
Define Global AI Context
- Go to → AI context: product, brand, tonality and formatting.
- Enter all the necessary background information in the → Global AI prompt field. We recommend that you use the prompt templates provided.
- If necessary, add to the list of master record fields and tags if further recipient data is required for writing the email.
Placing AI Content Blocks in the Editor
- Open the email builder via → Design.
- Select the action → AI Content in the right-hand menu under → Content.
- Drag the block into your email.
- Click on → Edit Content.
Define Prompt for Individual AI Content
- Enter a block title. This is only for your orientation, the recipient will not see it.
- Enter the prompt for the personalized section.
- It serves as an instruction for our AI to create the visible content for the recipient. We recommend using our prompt templates for this - this way you will quickly achieve convincing results.
- Add further master record fields and tags if required.
- You should also describe the formatting precisely in the prompt, e.g: "Format all paragraphs and lists (<p>, <li>) as follows: <p style="text-align:left; font-family: Lato; line-height:1.2;font-size: 16px;"
- Save the block.
Preview & Send Test Email
- Use the preview function or send a test e-mail.
- Preview content is generated once and is not saved. The email is also created individually for each recipient in the preview. The text may therefore vary when it is sent later - because it is generated again when it is sent.
Did you Know?
Both creating and sending preview emails cost 100 credits each. Every request - including the preview - is processed and answered directly by the AI. This means that the corresponding credits are charged as soon as the preview button is clicked, even if no preview email is sent.

Here you can find out what costs are incurred when using the SmartMail feature:
- Costs per month: €49.95
- Includes use of the SmartMail function incl. 50,000 credits per month.
- Cost per e-mail: 100 credits per generated e-mail.
- The monthly quota (50,000 credits) can be used to generate 500 emails.
- Please note that 100 credits are also charged for generating the preview e-mail.
- The monthly quota expires after 90 days.
- Auto-TopUp: 25,000 credits are automatically booked for 25€ as soon as your credits are used up.
- Credits from the Auto-TopUp also expire after 90 days.
