Send SuperChat WhatsApp Templates with Make
Would you like to use KlickTipp and Superchat WhatsApp integration with Make to reach your contacts directly via WhatsApp - e.g. for personal appointment reminders, automated webinar notifications or offer messages? With our ready-made Make template, you can do just that - without any programming knowledge.
Sending is based on an outbound event that is triggered in KlickTipp by a tag or campaign. You use dynamic templates with variables such as name, time or product - and receive responses directly in Superchat.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Prerequisites
- KlickTipp account with API access: Make sure you have a Premium subscription or higher so that you have access to the API.
- Make account: Make sure you have a Make account.
- Superchat Whatsapp configuration: Make sure that you have already set up Whatsapp as a communication channel and phone number in Superchat.
- Make sure that you have an approved WhatsApp template in Superchat.
Preparations within the KlickTipp Account
Before the integration is set up, all relevant data fields must be created in KlickTipp. These fields enable the correct assignment of the data from the Facebook Lead Ads. Navigate to your KlickTipp account and create the following master record fields under → Contacts → Data Fields:

These fields save the transferred data and help to ensure that the integration is complete and correct.
Create WhatsApp Template in Superchat
Important to Know
WhatsApp only allows so-called “message templates” to be sent if there is no active conversation with a contact. These templates must be created and approved by Meta in advance.
- Open your Superchat Whatsapp templates.
- Create a new template and select → Create your own Template.
- Name your template according to your use case and assign the appropriate category and language.
- Define the body of the message with placeholders for e.g. [First name] and [Free text].
- Optionally add an attachment, footer or button and finish creating the template by clicking → Submit for Review .
Sample Template Offer:

I hope you're doing well! 😊 I just wanted to remind you about our [free text] webinar tomorrow, for which you have registered. We would be very happy to have you there!

Import Make Scenario, set up Authentication, create KlickTipp Outbound & test
Use Case: Send Offer
The first part of the use case is about sending a reminder to the contact via Whatsapp template in Superchat. The contact already exists in KlickTipp and fulfills the outbound condition and thus triggers the Whatsapp message.
Scenario Import and Adjustments
Call up Import Link
- Create the necessary scenario via our import link and follow the wizard or → Guided Setup or import the template and adjust it manually using the following steps.
If you follow the wizard/guided setup, you can continue from step 4. If you prefer to set it up manually, you can simply continue with step 2.
Create KlickTipp Outbound
- Create an outbound in KlickTipp and name it appropriately, e.g. Superchat webinar reminder.
- Select a manual tag such as → Send superchat webinar reminder as the activation tag for the outbound and paste the copied webhook URL as the activation URL.
- Click on → Create outbound.
- You can then add further master record fields to the outbound, such as the first name in this example and the content for the free text - in this example, this is the title of our webinar and the time we would like to remind you of.
Set up KlickTipp Triggers
- Click on the KlickTipp module and open the settings.
- Copy the webhook URL and paste it later into your outbound in KlickTipp to trigger the sending of the Whatsapp message.
Set up Tools Module
- In this module, the data from KickTipp is processed so that it is transferred to the Superchat module in the correct format. The phone number of the KlickTipp contact and the time of the webinar are adjusted here.
Set up Superchat Module
- Click on the Superchat module and open the settings.
- Select your connection or create a new one. To do this, you must generate an API key in Superchat and insert it into Make.
- Define your sender name such as → KlickTipp.
- Under Communication Channel, select your Superchat WhatsApp channel and the template that you have created.
- The placeholders must now be assigned to the variables within the template. In this example, these are the first name and the free text, which is filled from master record field contents of the KlickTipp trigger.
Test & Activate
- In Make, click on → Run Once to carry out a test transmission.
- Assign the activation tag for outbound to your test contact (this must be prepared with a correctly filled master record) and check the Make scenario.
Good to Know
Please note that the cool-down must also be respected when testing via tagging to trigger the outbound. For a second test, you must either wait 6 hours or the outbound must be started via a campaign - there is no restriction on the cool-down here.
Use Case: Continue Chat History in Superchat
The second part of the use case is about responding to possible replies from recipients - directly from the reminder message. To do this, simply open the inbox in Superchat. When a recipient replies to the template message sent, a conversation history is automatically created. This allows support staff to continue further communication centrally and clearly in one place.
