Campaigns: Marketing Cockpit Actions
Use Calendar Events in the “Wait” Action for Campaigns
Learn how to use calendar events in the “Wait” action within the Marketing Cockpit.
We'll guide you step by step on creating calendars and integrating them into your campaigns. This allows you to manage workflows with precision.
Good to Know
When a contact reaches the “Wait” action, the waiting period is set with a fixed timestamp and won't be affected by subsequent changes. Changes only apply to contacts who reach the “Wait” action afterward. Make sure all “Wait” actions are correctly configured before activating your campaign.
Calendar events allow you to wait for specific dates or exclude them. Create as many calendars as you need and use them individually or in combination within a “Wait” action.
Step-by-Step-Instructions
Create Calendar
- Click on → Automation → Calendar.
- Create a new calendar and click on → Create.
- To create a new entry, click on the plus sign at the top right.
- Enter a name and select whether the appointment is a recurring or fixed date.
- For → Recurring date, choose between public holidays and different time intervals. There are further setting options for fine-tuning the selected basis.
- If you select the type → Fixed Date, you can define the start and end at → From - To.
- Select an appointment from the calendar.
- In the → Settings area, you can define the working days and exclude certain public holidays or countries from the working days. Then click on → Save.
Use Calendar Events in the “Wait” Action
- In your campaign, select the “Wait” action, then click on it again.
- Open the drop-down menu under → Delay and select → Wait for next Event in Calendar.
- Select the created calendar or create a new one. Click on → Save.
- When a contact reaches the “Wait” action, they will wait for the next event in the calendar.
Did You Know?
If there are no other appointments in the calendar or you have not entered any, the “Wait” action is skipped. However, if you have activated the → Wait for specific Time option, this applies to the current day.
If a “Wait” action with the → Wait for next Appointment in Calendar option is immediately followed by another calendar-related “Wait” action, it is executed immediately. Without a fixed time, an appointment in the calendar counts for the whole day (24 hours).
As a result, it can happen that the same appointment is used again because KlickTipp simply selects the next possible appointment. You can prevent this by specifying a time that is after the first “Wait” action.
With calendar events in the “Wait” action, you can manage your campaigns in an even more targeted way. This allows you to react flexibly to important dates. Follow these simple steps to create and use your calendars. This way, you can easily optimize your automations.
