Link Wufoo Form with KlickTipp and Transfer Data
In this article you will learn how you can easily link a Wufoo form with KlickTipp. We will guide you step by step through the process so that you can get the best out of both tools.
To transfer data to KlickTipp, you need a paid Wufoo account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Create Form in Wufoo
- Log in to your Wufoo user account.
- Click on the → + Create Form button at the top right.
- Name the form.
- Add the required fields and name them.
- Click on → Form Settings.
- Select your language under → Language.
- Under → Redirect to Website, insert the → URL for Double Opt-in Process from the Wufoo list building in KlickTipp.
- Save the Wufoo form.
Integrate Wufoo Form into KlickTipp
- Go to the menu → Listbuilding → New Listbuilding.
- Click on the Wufoo icon.
- Enter the Wufoo user name and the Wufoo API key. The Wufoo username is not the email address you use for the Wufoo login! You can find the username in the Wufoo Account menu under the → My Account option.
- Click on the → Continue button.
- Select your Wufoo form from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the → Create Wufoo Form button.
- Scroll to the → Fields section.
- Assign the corresponding Wufoo form fields to the KlickTipp fields.
- Assign a tag for each field.
- Name the value fields to the right of the fields for the tags.
- The values are transferred to KlickTipp in the master record of your contact.
Important
The API connection always works with the original user name at Wufoo, so always select the original user name from the URL displayed. You can find this in the account settings of your Wufoo account. This name always remains the same, no matter how often you change the user name for the login. You can only connect to KlickTipp with this name.
Hide Email Address with existing Contact ID
Here we show you how you can hide the email address in a Wufoo form. This works if a contact ID already exists for the contact in KlickTipp. This prevents the same person from registering in your list with different addresses. As soon as a contact has been created in your KlickTipp account, it automatically receives a contact ID. In this case, you can hide the email address field in the Wufoo form. Your contact can then complete and submit the survey without having to re-enter their email address.
Customize Form at Wufoo
- Log in to your Wufoo account.
- Click on → Forms in the menu.
- Click on → Edit next to the Wufoo form and select the option → Edit Form.
- Add an additional text field to the form.
- Name it → Contact ID.
- Add the word → Hide in the input field under → Add CSS Layout Keywords .
- Click on the → Save Form button.
- Define a rule. To do this, click on → Edit in the menu of the form overview in your form and select the option → Add Rules.
- Click on the → Create a Field Rule button.
- Configure the rule. In the drop-down menus, select in order → Contact ID → is not → (leave this field empty) → HIDE → Email Address.
- Then click on → Save Field Rules.
Addition to the JavaScript embedding code
- Add the command line → 'defaultValues': window.location.href.split('?')[1] to the JavaScript code.
- Copy the code to the clipboard.
- Click on → Share in the menu next to the form and select the option → Embed Form.
- Position the cursor in the JavaScript code behind the line → 'header':'show',
- Press the ENTER key three times to insert three blank lines.
- Paste the line of code from the clipboard.
- Then copy the complete JavaScript code with the → Copy Code button.
Did You Know?
Remember to also assign the → Contact ID field in list building in KlickTipp. Otherwise, the email address will be inserted automatically, but not hidden correctly - and Wufoo will not receive a contact ID. In this case, the rule cannot take effect.
Now you know how to easily link your Wufoo form with KlickTipp. This will ensure that the data is automatically transferred to your KlickTipp system.
