Good to Know
To display the Gravity Forms interface in German, make sure your WordPress language is set to → German under → Settings → General and in your user profile.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Connect the Plugin
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to → Gravity Forms → Settings.
- Select the KlickTipp tab.
- Click the Connect to KlickTipp button.
- A confirmation screen will open. Make sure you’re already logged into KlickTipp in the same browser. Click → Confirm API Access.
- You will be automatically redirected back to Gravity Forms. The connection is now active. You can disconnect it at any time with a single click or update the metadata.
Create Your First Form
- In the WordPress menu, go to → Gravity Forms → Forms and create a blank form.
- Enter a title, for example “Demo Form,” and a short description.
- In the drag-and-drop editor, drag the fields you want into the form. Use standard or advanced fields.
- For example, add the Name field, which automatically splits into first and last name, and an Email field.
- If needed, add dropdown menus or checkboxes to your form and define the options, such as different topics.
- Click Save when your form is complete.
Important: Gravity Forms handles date and time as separate fields. Combined date-time fields in KlickTipp cannot be populated directly from a single Gravity Forms field.
Map Fields
To transfer data correctly to KlickTipp, map your Gravity Forms fields to the corresponding KlickTipp fields.
- In the form editor, click Settings at the top and select KlickTipp.
- Click → Add New to create a new KlickTipp feed and give it a name.
- First, select the Email field from your form as the basis.
- Now assign the remaining fields. Under → Key, select the field from KlickTipp, such as Event Start Date or First Name. Under → Values, select the corresponding field from your Gravity Forms form, such as Date or First Name.
- Click the plus icon to add more fields. Previously mapped fields are highlighted in gray to help prevent duplicate assignments. Values are formatted automatically for KlickTipp.
Set Up Opt-In, Tags, and Conditions
In the same settings window, specify how contacts should be processed in KlickTipp:
- Opt-in process: Select your preferred double opt-in process from the dropdown menu.
- Assign tags: Select tags to be assigned upon registration. Blue tags already exist in your KlickTipp account. You can also create new tags directly in Gravity Forms by entering a new tag name and clicking → Add Tag (these are highlighted in green and will be created in KlickTipp when saved).
- Conditions (optional): Check the box next to → Enable Condition if data should only be transferred to KlickTipp under certain conditions (e.g., only if the correct value has been selected in the dropdown menu).
Embedding on Your Website
Your form is now ready for your visitors:
- Open the WordPress page or post where you want the form to appear (e.g., using the Gutenberg Block Editor).
- Click the plus icon, search for “Gravity,” and select the Gravity Forms block.
- Select the form you just created, such as “Newsletter Form,” from the dropdown menu.
- Save the page. Your form is now live and automatically sends leads to KlickTipp.
Advanced Features
Conditional Form Processing (Conditional Logic): Gravity Forms allows you to filter submissions before they are sent to KlickTipp.
For example, if you’ve combined a form for support requests and newsletter sign-ups, you can “Enable Conditions” in the KlickTipp feed settings. If you select here that the feed should only be executed when the → Subscribe to newsletter checkbox is checked, KlickTipp will completely ignore all other form submissions.
This helps keep your contact lists clean and organized.
