Automatically Tag Inactive Contacts in KlickTipp

In KlickTipp, you can easily define that inactive contacts are automatically marked with a tag. But what exactly does it mean when a contact is inactive or passive? If there is no response to your emails - i.e. no opens or clicks over a longer period of time - you can assume that this contact has become inactive.

In such cases, it is not worth continuing to write to these contacts, as they are probably no longer interested in your content. In addition, ISPs also pay attention to how actively your contacts interact with your emails, especially in terms of opens and clicks.

Here you can find out how you can easily tag inactive contacts in KlickTipp who have not opened or clicked on an email from you for between one and six months. You can then either use our reactivation campaign or exclude the selected tag from sending - whether for newsletters or campaign emails.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Automatically Tag Inactive Contacts

  • Click on → My AccountSettingsUser account.
  • Scroll down until you find the → Tag for passive Contacts  section.
  • Here, enter the tag with which contacts should be marked if they have not opened or clicked on an email in the last x months.
  • Define when a contact is considered inactive by selecting a period between 1 and 6 months.

Reactivate or Exclude Contacts

  • If you want to reactivate your contacts, follow the steps in the article: Reactivating passive contacts.
  • Alternatively, you can exclude the tag for inactive contacts from sending your newsletters and campaign emails.

With automatic tagging for inactive contacts, you’ll stay in control of your list and keep your email campaigns focused and effective.
