Preparations in Your KlickTipp Account
Creating Data Fields in KlickTipp
KlickTipp already includes standard contact fields such as first name, last name, email address, and company. Do not create these again.
Before running the integration, make sure the following custom fields exist in KlickTipp so the template can map form responses correctly:
- Google Forms | Job Title (Row)
- Google Forms | Industry (Row)
- Google Forms | Main Goal (Row)
- Google Forms | Reminder (Row)
- Google Forms | Webinar Date and Time (Date & Time)
Define or Create KlickTipp Tags
Create at least one tag in KlickTipp to identify leads that come from your Google Form. Use a clear name so you can segment these contacts easily later.
- Google Forms | Lead
Further Preparation in KlickTipp
We recommend creating a simple welcome or confirmation email campaign for new leads and choosing the opt-in method you want to use.
Optionally, create a landing page or tag-based automation that starts when the Google Forms Lead tag is applied.
No additional KlickTipp configuration is required beyond the fields and tag listed above.
Preparations in Google Forms
Prepare your form in Google Forms and make sure the responses are recorded correctly. You will configure the connection to KlickTipp in Make in the next steps.
Create Your Google Form
- Open Google Forms: Go to forms.google.com and click → + Blank or select a template.
- Add the fields required for your use case. Examples of fields you can use with KlickTipp:
- First Name (Short Answer) – set as a required field if needed.
- Last Name (Short Answer).
- Email address (short answer) – mark as required.
- Job title (short answer).
- Company/Organization (short answer).
- Industry (short answer or dropdown).
- Main reason for attending the webinar (checkbox, if multiple answers are allowed).
- Preferred webinar date and time (date or short answer, if date and time are entered in a single field).
- Preferred reminder time (short answer).
- For questions where multiple answers are allowed (e.g., main reason for attending the webinar), select checkboxes so that multiple options can be chosen.
- Use unique question labels. The headings in the Answers tab or in the linked Google Sheet should match the field labels that you’ll map later in the integration.
Import and Set Up the Make Template
Open Template
- Click on the link to the Make template.
Start the Guided Setup
- In Make, click → Start Guided Setup.
- In the first module (Monitor Google Forms Submissions), link the Google Account associated with your form.
- Select the form by ID or search for its title. Choose how many submissions to process per run (e.g., 1) and set the start time (e.g., Starting now).
Configure the KlickTipp Module
- In the module → Add or Transfer Submissions to KlickTipp, connect your KlickTipp account (enter your API credentials if necessary).
- Assign the email address from the form—this field is required.
- Select the opt-in process (single opt-in or double opt-in) that you previously configured.
- Select the KlickTipp tag you want to set (e.g., Google Forms Lead). Make sure this tag has already been created in KlickTipp.
Map the Remaining Fields
- Assign the first name, last name, job title, company name (Company is a standard field in KlickTipp), and other relevant fields.
- For multiple-choice fields (e.g., → Main Goal ), use a join function to convert the selected values into a single string and map them to the corresponding text field in KlickTipp.
- For date and time fields, make sure the format used is parsed correctly; adjust the time zone or formatting if necessary.
Test the Integration and Activate the Scenario
Check the Preparation
- Open your Google Form and make sure all required questions are configured correctly.
- In KlickTipp, verify that all required custom fields and the Google Forms Lead tag exist.
Start a Test Run
- Open the scenario in Make and click → Run once.
- Submit the Google Form using realistic test data and complete all fields that you mapped in Make.
Check the Scenario Run
- Monitor the scenario execution in Make.
- Make sure the trigger receives the form submission correctly and that the KlickTipp module runs without errors.
Check the Contact in KlickTipp
Open KlickTipp and search for the contact using the submitted email address.
Check whether:
- the contact was created or updated,
- first name, last name, job title, and company were transferred correctly,
- the custom fields for industry, main goal, reminder, and webinar date and time contain the submitted data,
- the Google Forms Lead tag was applied.
Correct Mapping or Formatting Issues
- If values are missing or mapped incorrectly, return to the scenario in Make.
- Adjust the field mapping or the functions used to join and format values, then run the test again.
Activate the Scenario
- Once all data is transferred correctly, activate the scenario in Make.
- New Google Forms submissions will then be processed automatically and created or updated as contacts in KlickTipp.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the trigger does not show any submissions, check that you selected the correct form ID and that the connected Google account has access to the form.
- If the KlickTipp action fails, check your KlickTipp connection and API credentials. Also make sure all required custom fields exist.
- If you experience opt-in issues, check the settings of the selected opt-in process.
Implementing and Maintaining the Integration
- Set the desired execution interval in Make, for example every five minutes. Choose the interval based on how quickly you want to process leads and the limits of your Make plan.
- Switch the scenario from → Run once to → On and make sure its status is active.
- Monitor the first few runs and verify that contacts are created or updated correctly in KlickTipp.
- Configure error handling and notifications in Make so you are informed automatically if a scenario fails.
- Adjust the number of submissions processed per run if necessary to balance processing speed and execution time.
- Use tags strategically to segment leads and trigger relevant follow-up campaigns.
Next Steps
Once the integration is running reliably, you can expand it to automate follow-ups, segmentation, and revenue-driven campaigns. Here are a few practical ways to get more value from your collected data.
- Welcome and Confirmation Workflow: Immediately assign the “Google Forms Lead” tag and start a welcome email sequence that confirms the sign-up, provides a PDF, or explains the next steps. Use your chosen opt-in process to properly manage consent.
- Webinar Reminder Automation: Use the “Google Forms Webinar Date and Time” field to send time-triggered reminder emails (e.g., 24 hours and 1 hour before the webinar) via date-based automation in KlickTipp.
- Segmented Nurture Sequences: Use the “Google Forms Primary Goal” field (or tags derived from it) to send targeted nurture emails tailored to the contact’s primary interest or key issue.
- Handoff to Sales or Qualification: Filter contacts by "Job Title" and "Company" to identify qualified leads. Then trigger a sales notification or CRM handoff via KlickTipp automations.
- Re-engagement and retargeting: Use tags to re-engage contacts who have selected specific options (e.g., interest in a product) and launch appropriate campaigns or offer sequences.
Summary
With this integration, you can automatically sync form responses and streamline your lead management. Connecting Google Forms to KlickTipp speeds up your follow-up and enables better segmentation through tags. That gives you more time for what really matters: building trust and winning over customers.
